I’m ashamed to admit that I’m out of the loop and had to do some digging to find out which ladies were rocking the soccer stage. Interestingly enough it’s a lot easier to find information on the “hottest soccer chicks of the world.” Although a lot of them make a dude say “Va va va voom”, they make a girl proud with their high skills, stamina and drive.
The Best Women’s Soccer Players In The World
1. Brazil’s Marta Vieira Da Silva has won FIFA’s World Best Players/Ballon D’or five years in a row (2005-2010). As a child, she got her start on the streets of Dois Riachos where she showed the local boys that indeed a chick can play soccer. Marta, aka Pele in Skirts, played for Brazil in the 2007 World Cup and in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, helping her team finish in the silver spot each time. In league action, she played for Gold Pride last year; in 24 games she scored 19 goals! Her amazing footwork, extreme angled shots, powerful corner kicks and her uncanny ability to get past every defender, makes this forward a soccer force to be reckoned with. We’ll see more from Marta soon as her season with Western New York Flash starts April 17 and she will be representing Brazil in the World Cup this summer.
Check out these impressive Marta plays – how she stops the ball, just in the nick of time right on the end line, near the beginning of the video, is truly remarkable!
